Natural is beautiful

Ancient beauty treatments were all natural because chemicals had not been discovered. Today beauty products are more chemicals than natural ingredients and that is the reason that using them may lead to cancer. That means you need to also be careful about using beauty products that say organic or natural without reading the fine print because natural or made with organic ingredients may not really contain ingredients that grow naturally. If you want to have glowing, healthy skin you need to go back to the way the ancients cared for their skin - naturally.

Moisturisers

Keeping the skin hydrated means you are ensuring that it remains young and supple. Besides drinking plenty of water and natural juices you can use natural oils like coconut, olive, almond or jojoba oil to massage your skin. Dry, parched skin is one of the reasons that the skin ages really quickly. So whether it is winter or summer use these natural oils to keep your skin moisturised. The best thing about coconut oil is that you can use it on your face, body and even hair to bring out the natural beauty.

Shampoo

When we talk of hair it’s a good idea to give it a massage at least once a week with coconut oil. Heat it a little as coconut oil tends to solidify. Rub it into your scalp, leave it on for an hour before you shampoo it off. Talking of shampoos; be careful of sulphates. Sulphates cause the shampoo to lather up but natural health experts advice not using shampoos that have the chemicals ending with ‘ate’ or ‘eth’ have tested positive for cancer causing Dioxane. Shampoos that do not contain any synthetic ingredients like formaldehyde, sodium laurel sulphate, DEA, propylene glycol, artificial color and preservatives, alcohol or urea could be termed natural. Natural shampoos contain natural oils, butters and botanical infusions so that when they are used the hair and scalp are nourished and moisturized.

Soaps

Soaps can strip the skin of moisture so natural organic soaps that contain goat milk, shea butter, clear glycerin, pure essential oils or olive oil are the soaps that you should use. Soaps that have organic herbs, seeds, spices, vegetables, fruits and flowers or purifying clays are what make soaps natural. Sometimes skins are sensitive and people have different requirements so use natural soaps that help to improve your condition like dry skin, oily skin, acne, pimples or rosacea.

Choosing products

When manufacturers of organic products claim them to be so, make sure they contain at least 95 percent organic ingredients as a number of manufacturers use only 50 percent organic ingredients. Before buying products study a number of products and choose manufacturers that seem passionate about offering genuine organic products. Since manufacturers need not disclose the percentage of ingredients used many of them use just a minimum percentage of natural ingredient so they can use that on labels. If you cannot identify genuine products from the not so genuine then use homemade organic natural products.
